Anniversaries are special times of life, especially when you reach specific milestones, like 5 year, 10 years, 20, 25 and 50 years. These times call for special considerations and diamond anniversary rings may be the perfect way to commemorate years of a life together. But what kind of ring should you buy? Let’s look at some popular choices to help you decide.

Anniversary Bands

Rings called anniversary bands are specifically made for special occasions. They are usually made from clusters of diamonds and may contain as many as four, five or six rows of clustered or paved diamonds. This provides a great deal of sparkle and “bling” and you can choose from a number of settings like platinum, rose gold, yellow gold and even white gold. In fact, when you do business with a trusted jeweler you can choose from many metals and a number of different types of diamonds also. This gives you the chance to customize your ring in several ways.

Eternity Bands

Eternity rings make excellent diamond anniversary rings. In fact, they are often given for such occasions. What is an eternity band? Eternity rings first came into being about 50 years ago. DeBeers came up with the idea of using multiple small diamonds for rings, as opposed to featuring one large stone. At the time the diamond giant had a vast supply of smaller stones and needed a way to present them to the public. Since then, eternity rings have caught on and have become very popular.

Usually, eternity rings are presented to wives from husbands and it is not uncommon to give them to commemorate one year of marriage. They are sometimes referred to as infinity bands. These rings are also presented for specific milestones like a first child and can be for other occasions. However, they make exceptional diamond anniversary rings too.
